Daniel Blumenthal, working his way through some thorny and not always grateful stretches of the repertoire, plays ehude an imposing breadth, and even when he lacks the sort of magical technical and poetic resource to lift such music, untrammelled, from its sometimes dur origins, I can safely say that Blumenfeld and Blumenthal are well matched.
