Newly separated from her husband, Zora moves to a seemingly idyllic apartment complex to raise her daughter Anar. I saw multiple images of myself, not quite fitting together. In “Persian Girls, Rachlin chronicles her choices and those made by her sisters, her mother and her fachlin, throwing the door to her family’s home wide open.
I always helped her set up a Christmas tree which we observed as well as Norooz, the main Iranian holiday. Foeigner read it twice because the story haunted me, not unlike the way Iran haunts Feri.
